Orthopedic Surgery Residency Program

The Texas A&M-Scott & White Orthopedic Surgery Residency Program and the Bone and Joint Institute of Scott & White Hospital provide an educational experience second to none at one of the top 15 major teaching hospitals in the United States, with fellowship-trained faculty offering comprehensive care at a Level 1 trauma center.

With more than 1,500 orthopedic admissions, 10,000 operative procedures and 70,000 outpatient visits annually, our residents receive training in sports medicine, spine surgery, hand and upper extremity surgery, joint replacement, foot and ankle surgery, pediatric orthopedics, musculoskeletal oncology and orthopedic trauma.

In keeping with the mission of Scott & White Hospital to provide the highest level of patient care enhanced by education and research, our faculty and residents are engaged in multi-centered, multi-disciplinary projects in diverse areas such as the role of basic proteins on healing fractures, the development of fracture implants, investigation of joint replacement systems and pharmacotherapy for cerebral palsy patients.

It is an exciting time for our residents and faculty, as the new hospital at Scott & White opened its doors in January 2007 with updated facilities, wireless, digital technology and a paperless environment. The Orthopedic Surgery Residency Program is committed to providing world-class orthopedic training to our residents and the highest level of compassionate care to our patients.
