Neurosurgical Residency Program

Our vision is to provide our patients life-changing and innovative treatment and care. We do this by training and educating the best neurosurgeons in the country, conducting cutting edge clinical and translational research, and by providing a constant, consistent, and rigorous continuing education curriculum to students, residents, staff, and physicians. This foundation of clinical care – research – education ensures that the care we provide is the best possible, that such care continues to stay improvement focused, and that the residents trained in our program matriculate with the skills needed to providing that life-change treatment across the country. By integrating our research and technology development into our training and clinical programs we not only train residents to provide the best care but also provide them the foundation to contribute to the discovery process which in turn optimizes the opportunity to improve or save people’s lives.

We will do this with an extraordinary organizational environment that strives for excellence and patient-centered care. By teaching, training and mentoring students, staff and residents, we are creating, not just using, cutting edge technologies and breakthroughs in medicine. Our overall goal is to provide state-of-the-art care to people so that each person we touch is improved and has received the best that we can give. By dually focusing on research and technical skills including clinical, translational, and basic science and through interdepartmental collaborations we are training the next generation of neurosurgeons, neurologists, and neuroscientists to be some of the best in the country.

This is an exciting time to practice neurosurgery. The ever changing face of health care requires unending evolution to meet the growing demands of the current medical environment and the ever growing needs of the people that require our help. We are embracing the challenges by providing the finest patient centered neurosurgical education program we can.
