General Surgery Residency Program

The five-year, fully accredited Texas A&M-Scott & White General Surgery Residency Program was established in the 1920s at Scott & White Hospital in Temple, Texas. We have six categorical resident positions offered through the National Residency Matching Program.

One of our great strengths lies in the diversity and volume of clinical experience available to our residents. Scott & White Memorial Hospital-Temple is an approximately 600-bed, Level 1 trauma and tertiary care referral center that sees more than 2 million outpatient visits and 50,000 surgical procedures yearly. Our graduates have been extraordinarily successful in obtaining fellowship positions in such disciplines as surgical oncology, pediatric surgery, plastic surgery, trauma/critical care, colorectal surgery, vascular surgery and cardiothoracic surgery.
