Interview Process
We have four interview dates. Three of the interview date processes will begin on Wednesday evening with a resident dinner and proceed Thursday morning with formal interviews with faculty beginning at 8:30 a.m. and concluding by 1 p.m. We will have one Saturday interview starting at 8:30 a.m., beginning with a resident dinner on Friday evening. Once the interviews are completed we will join for a luncheon. A tour of Scott and White Hospital will be given by a current resident.
We encourage applicants who are applying for our residency program to apply for their internship year in Internal Medicine at Scott & White, although this is not required. Preliminary interviews with Internal Medicine are later in the year, but we are able to coordinate a "meet and greet" with the Internal Medicine Program Director on the day of your interview.
International Applicants
Obtaining a residency slot in the U.S. GME system is a multi-step process that begins with certifcation through the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG). ECFMG Certification assures U.S. GME programs that physicians trained outside the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico are qualified and eligible to enter residency training. Additional information on the ECFMG Certifcation can be obtained from the Americcan Medical Association website.
Externships
We are always happy to have medical students from other universities rotate through our Department. Externships offer a great dermatological experience at Scott and White. Medical students interested in rotating with Scott and White who are not Texas A&M medical students, are required to apply through VSAS (Visiting Student Application Services). Click on "Medical Student Information" for detailed information.
