The Scott & White Clinical Staff Development and Nursing Research (CSDNR) Division creates and fosters educational and research opportunities to support clinically-competent nurses. The division's areas of focus include Clinical Education, Continuing Nursing Education and Outreach, Nursing Academic Education, Professional Development and Nursing Research.
Clinical Staff Development and Nursing Research
Clinical Education
Basic Life Support (BLS) Training and more. CSDNR serves as a Community Training Center for the American Heart Association. Other Life Support Courses include ACLS, PALS, ATLS, FCCS and ENPC.
- Nursing Internship Programs are designed to assist recent graduates in transitioning to the role of a professional registered nurse in a specialized area.
Continuing Nursing Education and Outreach
Continuing Nursing Education classes provide attendees with opportunities to learn skills that either prepare them for new roles or help them to be more successful within their present roles. Outreach Education is available upon request. Please e-mail Melinda LaPrade

Nursing Academic Education
Scott & White partners with Texas A&M Health Science Center (TAMHSC)-Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi (TAMU-CC) to offer a unique approach to nursing education. Additionally, the Scott & White Nursing Education Assistance Program provides scholarships each year for nursing education.
Nursing Research
The Division of Clinical Staff Development and Nursing Research supports the belief of the Department of Nursing that the practice of professional nursing must be research based.
